FACE AND NECK LIPOSUCTION
Attempting to eliminate lower face and neck fat through diet and exercise alone is often a very frustrating endeavor, which is why liposuction surgery of the lower face and neck is an effective and rewarding option for many patients. Facial and neck liposuction can produce very dramatic effects in the aging face or in younger patients with fat deposits.

FACE AND NECK LIPOSUCTION
As many people can attest, it is not easy to lose weight in your face. The chin and jaw areas are notoriously resistant to the effects of diet and exercise. Liposuction can create subtle improvements to these spots that result in a more slender facial profile.

The best way to determine if facial liposuction is for you is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Givens who has extensive amount of experience performing facial liposuction and/or other facial rejuvenation procedures. He will examine your facial anatomy and engage you in a candid discussion of your aesthetic goals and expectations.

When performed in a localized area with a relatively small amount of fatty tissue, such as the chin and neck areas, liposuction is usually performed with local, or tumescent, anesthesia and conscious sedation. However, if neck liposuction is being combined with a face or neck lift, general anesthesia is typically recommended.

Small incisions are hidden under the chin or behind the ears, and a thin suction tube called a cannula is inserted to remove the fat from your neck. The incisions are not stitched closed to allow for elimination of remaining anesthetic fluid after the procedure. Scarring from the incisions is minimal and rarely noticeable.
