SCULPTRA® AESTHETIC
As we age, we lose collagen, which acts as the skin’s support structure and helps maintain its shape. In fact, 70% of our skin is composed of collagen, and collagen loss causes the skin to lose its elasticity and moisture. Sculptra Aesthetic helps treat the underlying cause of facial aging — the loss of collagen. In doing so, it subtly and gradually adds volume that lifts the soft tissues and plumps skin from within.

Sculptra Aesthetic is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biodegradable substance that has been proven safe and has been used in medical products, including dissolvable sutures, for more than 30 years.

Once injected Sculptra Aesthetic begins working with your body deep within the dermis layer of skin to help stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production over time, helping to reinforce skin’s inner structure and increase facial volume that has been lost due to aging.

DOWNTIME
There is no downtime with Sculptra. If swelling occurs it most commonly lasts up to a few days.

On average, three treatment sessions are needed over a few months. The treatments are scheduled at least 6 weeks apart.

WHAT IS SCULPTRA?
How does Sculptra work?
Sculptra works gradually and leads to a subtle yet noticeable improvement in skin volume. The full treatment includes three injection sessions over a few months. With each session, the active ingredient (poly-L-lactic acid) is injected into the skin which replaces lost collagen and also encourages natural collagen production for long-lasting, natural-looking results that last up to two years. Because its effects are gradual, and because the skin is plumped by the body's own natural 'lifter,' the results are matchless in terms of naturalness of appearance.

What is Sculptra made out of?
Sculptra's active ingredient poly-L-lactic acid is a biocompatible and biodegradable synthetic compound. Once injected, it is absorbed into the body without any reactions and starts to work within the deep dermis, fortifying and reinforcing the foundation of skin structure. A safe and stable compound, poly-L-lactic acid has numerous applications in medicine and has been used for many years. There's absolutely nothing to worry about!
